Text input is supported out of the box. Both physical keyboard and virtual keyboards are supported. Also IME is supported for languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean. The IME is supported only on the platforms where unity supports IME. Meaning IME input is not supported on WebGL.
Text input using the keyboard is not supported for RTL languages such as Arabic and Hebrew.
